Office Policy
Mid- Atlantic Rheumatology has implemented office policy’s and they are established to help us serve you better.
It is necessary for us to make appointments in order to see our patients as efficiently as possible. No-shows and late cancellations cause problems that go beyond a financial impact on our practice. When an appointment is made, it takes an available time slot away from another patient. No-shows and late cancellations delay the delivery of healthcare to other patients, some of whom are quite ill. A “no-show” is missing a scheduled appointment. A “late-cancellation” is canceling an appointment without calling us to cancel within 24 hours of an office appointment or 72 hours in advance of a procedure. We understand that situations such as medical emergencies occasionally arise. These situations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. New patients must arrive 30 (thirty) minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time, and established patients must arrive 15 (fifteen) minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time. Failure to do so could results in late cancellation and reschedule.
**A Charge of $50.00 will be assessed for each no-show or late cancellation of an office visit appointment if less than 24 hours’ notice is given.**
**A charge of $150.00 will be assessed for each no-show or late cancelation of a procedure, including an injection or infusion appointment, if less than 72 hours’ notice is given.**
Please understand that insurance companies consider this charge to be entirely the patient’s responsibility. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call Mid-Atlantic Rheumatology at 410-787-9400 and speak with a patient representative. This policy is in effect to ensure that all our patients have the opportunity to be seen promptly.
Please arrive 30 Minutes early prior to your appointment if you are a new patient; if you are an established patient, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment. If you show up at the time of your appointment, or are late to your appointment, you may be rescheduled. In order to be respectful of the medical needs of our patients please be courteous and call Mid-Atlantic Rheumatology LLC if you are unable to attend an appointment. This time will be reallocated to someone who is in need of treatment. This is how we can best serve the needs of our patients.
You must have your insurance card, photo ID/license and copay ready for when you check in or you may be rescheduled. If you have a current balance, we ask that provide payment prior to appointment.
***There are NO CHILDREN ALLOWED UNDER THE AGE OF 16 unless cleared by a provider and/or management ahead of time.***
To ensure a safe, quiet, and professional environment for our patients and staff, Mid Atlantic Rheumatology has implemented a No Children Allowed policy. We kindly ask that you make appropriate childcare arrangements before your appointment, as children are not permitted in the office. This policy is in place to:
-Maintain a calm and focused environment for medical consultations and procedures
-Ensure the safety of all patients, who could be autoimmune compromised, and our staff.
-Prevent potential disruptions that may affect patient care.
We understand this might require additional planning, and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
If you are having any symptoms of Covid, flu, or any contagious respiratory illness such as shortness of breath, cough, fever, or sore throat let someone in the office know immediately.
If you have any of these symptoms, we recommend calling us first prior to office visit. This allows us to conduct the screening process over the phone, ensuring safety for you and others.
If you need immediate medical attention, call 9-1-1 or visit the nearest hospital ER.
Silence your cell phones when you are in the office.
Keep any cell phone conversation to a minimum so as not to disturb the staff and those around you.
